Description
BSA B25 Starfire Restoration Project with VMCC Dating Certificate
Here is my BSA B25 Starfire which I took in exchange for another project bike a while ago. I need the room so its available for someone to fully restore as I shall never get around to it as I am looking out for an electric start XT.
Please study the pictures as they form part of the description.
It does NOT have a V5c. A previous owner had gone to the trouble of getting a VMCC Dating Certificate and there is some correspondence regarding possibly retaining the reg. no but has not been pursued further since 2010. There is an old MOT and a Tax disc but I think the new DVLA regulations now require documents to have frame numbers. Otherwise I suppose you will only get an age related number.
It seems to be complete apart from the odd minor part. I did get the 2 Odgie bolts for the left hand panel but can't find them now but if they turn up I will let the buyer have them. There is no battery. Other bits may be missing too. The tyres are not roadworthy. The chrome is rusty in places. The paintwork is reasonable enough if you wanted to ride it with the old patina! The steel fuel tank will need a thorough clean-out as it seems to have some decomposed sealant flaking inside. I have no idea what the engine and gearbox condition is like and haven't tried to start it so will be necessary to strip it down completely.
These later B25s were much improved compared to the C15 and the styling still looks good over 40 years later.
If you would like to view the bike - highly recommended - then please contact me via Motorcycles-for-sale.
Its in North Shropshire. Cash on collection preferred. You will need a trailer or van to pick it up.
It will be a great project for someone to restore and bring back to its former glory.
