Description
Lambretta GP125, 1971, Italian.
The scooter was stripped, blasted, and repainted a few years ago, and the rebuild was started. As with many projects, it fell by the wayside, so I rescued it. I applied for the logbook with every intention of finishing it, but I've got other projects on the go and realized I can't overload myself with another. So, it's time to go.
It really is a very straightforward rebuild. All bodywork is done and finished, as are all the wheels, forks, and hubs—powder-coated silver. The tank, mudguard, and airbox are in 9002. The scooter itself is in the proper turquoise color. It comes with the 125 engine, which will require a rebuild. Proper Guillari seat base—needs blasting, powder coating, and a new cover.
I cannot remember everything it needs to finish, but I do know it includes a complete rubber set, runners, tires and tubes, headlight, speedo, fork rebuild, and dampers.
All in all, a pretty straightforward rebuild. If you look around, Italian GP125 imports requiring full restoration are going for £2,000–£3,000, so I think this will make a sound investment at £2,250. I believe it could be back on the road for £3,000, with no messing about registering or anything.
Any questions—may consider a part exchange. W.H.Y.
Thanks for looking.
