Norton Commando Domiracer Featherbed built by Mick Hemmings

Norton Commando Domiracer.
This bike was built by Mick Hemmings for himself to race. He used a featherbed frame, Manx oil tank. Ali long track and short track petrol tanks Commando engine and a period fairing. After a lot of cajoling. he eventually sold it to one of his best friends who is a good friend of mine. I purchased it with the intention of racing it but things change and I need the money for another project.

Originally this was prepared to race at the Isle of Man with a 500 engine in 2005 went through scrutineering but was never raced as the rider was ill. The bike came back to the UK and Mick took the engine out and built the race Commando engine. He still referred to it as the Domiracer and wanted a fast reliable racer so built it accordingly although its never been raced in anger. This has been on a few track weekends since and very little else. Its in fantastic condition and is ready to race. The engine was fully rebuilt by Mick. with superblends. correctly balanced crank. powermax high comp pistons. combat spec gas flowed head. race four speed gearbox with blanking for the kickstart. total loss Boyer ignition. two new Amal Mk1 carbs and a belt drive with a Bob Newby clutch.
The high level exhaust is made by Manny and is legal for all race tracks. Brakes are Commando on 18 inch alloy rims with stainless spokes and racing tyres. Shortened Roadholder forks. Koni shocks. electronic racing rev counter.
This is fast. competitive and reliable. the only thing I would change for serious racing would be the front brake for a 4 shoe job.

This is a real opportunity to buy a top spec fast racer with a build provenance in great condition ready to race or parade.
