1951 Norton Big 4 600cc Unfinished project.
This Norton was bought by the current owner as a basket case and slowly restored, re- registered in 2016 ( non transferrable reg. no. ). Norton factory records show the bike was dispatched on 14th Feb 1951.
The bike has matching engine and frame numbers.
Lots of work has been carried out to get the bike back to its current condition. It has been rewired and was last run approximately 2 years ago but been stood since. Through the restoration it had new British chrome wheels which are now showing light specks of corrosion but would clean up nicely, new tyres, pattern seat and a Norton owners club speedo (original bikes mileage unknown).
The bike has its original toolbox, rear main stand and front side stand. As you will see from the images some of the black paintwork will require attention.
The bike will require fully checking over due to it being an unfinished project, it will require a new battery and the gearbox will require oil as not yet been filled. The speedo cable is not fitted but is supplied.
