Description
1952 Norton Model 7 Dominator ISDT / green-lane style with V5C doc
Here's a tidy and unusual Norton 500cc Dominator model 7 twin in green lane or even ISDT look-alike style! It was built by the previous keeper but never ridden. It starts very easily and sounds OK but quite tappety / cam followers. No smoke no knocks. Goes very well, remarkably lively and free revving for a 500. It is fun to ride, with decent brakes and good handling. Speedo is working well and charging system is working well (solid state 6V regulator fitted). Gears and clutch are Ok, but going from 2nd to third is a bit stiff. Coming back down the box is spot on.
The bike comes with VC doc having been recently re-registered. Reg number is SXS 536, frame number G12 45659, engine number 51319 H12 These numbers match the V5C.
The bike is registered for Historic Vehicle (free) road tax and is MOT exempt.
Cosmetically the bike is clean and tidy but not beautifully restored by any means. The frame has old looking poor finish, practical but not pretty upon close inspection. Tank has a respectable paint job.
Wheel rims and spokes are all stainless. Front tyre is as new Avon SM MKII ribbed, rear is as new Dunlop TT100. Exhaust system is as new. Seat is very good. Couple of small hardly noticeable chips on left side top fin of cylinder barrel and 1 bad chip on 2nd fin of head left side. Good centre stand, no sidestand. This is a handy little 500 Norton ideal for pottering / green laning etc. It has been built to a reasonable standard but not fully restored so the new keeper should view it as a ride restore unfinished project that is bound to need further improvements and recommissioning along the way. Don't miss this lively and fun 500cc Model 7 Domminator.
