Description
LAMBRETTA SX200 - Innocenti 5483 Miles from New FACTORY Paint. UK Reg From New.
I purchased this Scooter around 3 years ago and have covered around 500 miles in that time.
This is your chance to acquire a very rare original Lambretta SX 200 UK Registered from new (01/04/1969).
The Scooter is in amazing condition having spent most of its life stored away (a period of its time i believe in someones living room) its covered 5483 miles and the scooter is all original still wearing its original factory Paint. Still has the original waterslide decal from the original Dealer Behind the seat over the rear light housing (NELSON & FORD in Stanford Lee - Hope Essex). running its factory electrics (UK Battery Model with points) Side panel blue flashes have been added either by the original dealer or some time after (they have good age so i would think it was around the same time as when it was new).
The scooter is outstanding for its age. Paintwork is excellent. No dents. Even the fork and wheel rim paint is the original. I don't think a better original unrestored UK SX200 is out there this is as good as it gets. Even all the control cables are the originals.
It comes with a set of original keys ( Ignition. Steering lock and Tool box) and a set of new ones.
I have Loads of History. Old Mots. Tax Discs. SORNS etc. the earliest MOT dates from April 1991 with a speedo reading of 4145. I have at least a further 4 or 5 mots which are consistent and back up the mileage. it appears to have been pretty much stored for 10 years as the next as mot was in may 2000 with a speedo reading of just an extra 17 miles (4162) from here in then had mots every year till may 2004 an covered a further 909 miles bringing its mileage to 5071 in the mot ending in 2004. From here on its been stored pretty much all the time. With only 2 more mots one in 2010 with speedo reading of 5137 (by previous owner) then stored again till i purchased it and had it moted in April 2014 with speedo reading of 5265 its been stored since then with current speedo reading of 5483 and has been stored unused since 2014.
Due to it not being used for over a year it may require a service and possible a new battery although the horn still works fine with the ignition and engine off so the battery still has some power and having started it up today for the first time in a few months it seemed to be fine.
All the lights and horn work fine and the scooter rides really well. nice and smooth. with good suspension etc. ( again front dampers are original. ( no leaks) rear is original. Its running all its original electrics (would be a shame to fit and electric kit to such an original machine so I've left well alone and would hope that the next owner does to. but that's up to you)
I believe even the tyres are original. as its fitted with the much sort after Michelin ACS the rear of these is over half worn down but i managed to source a brand new old stock example which i will supply with the scooter.
This Lambretta SX200 is the much rarer Model with the silver forks. wheel rims and hubs and the rear panels with no handles. plastic GP style Tool Box and square shaped innocent horncast badge.
The frame and engine are both original and SX200 850*** and are just under 60 apart so that would be correct. ( Both last 3 digits on frame and engine i have blurred out with photoshop for security) Its actually one of the last made before Innocenti moved over to the GP/DL range.
So there you have it and outstanding example of one of the most sort after if not the most sort after Lambretta's out there. Not an import a genuine uk. Sold bike from the 60's in outstanding condition for its age. As i already said i think it would be pretty much impossible to find a better original example. In my opinion far better that a restored example with no character.
It obviously has some minor marks here and there and signs of minor maintenance as is near 50 years old but its the best you ever likely to find with the history it has. No rust etc. Original seat strap has broken at one side fastener ( easy to replace ).
I'm very fussy and can honestly say that the bike is outstanding. As you would expect with a bike that's covered so few miles. Please understand that the price reflects its history and condition. There may be cheaper ones out there that you may find with some hunting. Most are either made up LI specials and are just badges up as something else. or are restored examples which are superb but not in my opinion in the same league as a original pretty much as it left the factory machine with low mileage etc.
Any Viewing is Welcome. First to see will buy. I'm afraid a road test will not be possible as the bike is currently SORN and will need tax. If you view you will see its all correct so this should not be a problem.
I'm selling to hopefully help fund the purchase of a model A.
