Description
1974 Kawasaki 750CC H2 Mach IV.
This is an extremely rare offering. Even I have never seen this come around before. And I have always followed these machines.
I say rare for 3 reasons:
1) I am the original owner. The bike is original through out. Period
2) This is NOT "Restored" like most all for sale. This was "maintained" by the original owner, garaged kept and continually serviced.
3) The bike color is in the rarely sold Candy Gold Brown. Seldom seen.
I could go thru all the myths about this bike. Most are true and if you're interested it, you most likely heard them.
This bike is still the animal it was when I purchased it. It could kill you. Easily, with the forty-six year old braking technology.
In forty-six years almost everything has been maintained. Originally, I could get OEM parts, then NOS, still some odd NOS about, then aftermarket. If your looking for an Excel spreadsheet with all the parts listed - it doesn't exist. Everything has been maintained over time. I just serviced something different every winter. (No winter riding here) Everything has been apart (except trans) and re-assembled. Being a mechanic, I saved most parts that didn't fail. Don't know why, never used them.
All I can say is - LOOK AT THE PICTURES!
The paint is all original. Tank, Sides & Rear Fender are exceptionally clean. Almost spotless. Slight left side cover paint scratches near gas petcock (see pic). Very small crease on left side cover (see pic). Frame is original. Original harness. Front fender is flawless chrome. Rims are all flawless chrome.
Engine has been apart for rings even if it didn't necessarily need it. Cylinders honed. Easy task for me. All metal is showroom clean. Even the underside. Original Kawasaki lacquer was removed from all engine covers and buffed out by a local pro. Even forks were done. Rear hub was to be the last, but it doesn't appear that I'll be owning it this winter to do the spokerestring with SS. Carbs have been done so many times, I could do them with my eyes partially closed. Last rebuild kit was by IVAN at Rockland County Motorcycle in Congers, NY. This guy, Ivan, has perfected a 5 chamfer setup for the jet needle. It is an unbelievable rebuild! That 2-stroke bucking is almost eliminated when you let back on the throttle. Much faster acceleration. As if it was needed. BelRay oil has been my lube of choice since 1974. Both trans and oil injector. Never an issue with either system.
Everything works like it did when new. Still to this day. Even got original shocks. Chain oiler works if you want to make a mess.
Tires are Pirelli Sport Demon. About 2 years old but hardly any miles. They are glued to the road with this bike. This is the only condition I've kept it in all my adult life. Don't know why, just always enjoyed it.
Mileage is 17,800.
I could speak or be asked questions for hours about my bike. But I would never get this listing done.
The pics speak to themselves... The bike is garaged in northern NJ
This is a collectors piece, museum quality. This is a rare opportunity to purchase this type of vintage Kawasaki, not many of these come up for sale. Please feel free to ask questions or request additional pics.
Sold as is.
A document regarding sales price, deposit amount & remaining balance will be signed by both parties upon receipt of deposit monies. Ownership Title will be shown to verify ownership but will not be filled out till all funds have cleared. This is a paper title. NOT a digital title. This should be an easy transaction.
Also, I am reluctant to let anyone ride it before purchasing it. No offense but we know nothing of each other and this a bike that I cannot let just anyone go out on the street to ride alone. There is way too much risk for me when someone opens these carbs, hits warp speed and cannot slow down quick enough. Anyone can open it up after they purchase and see what a ride it can be. I'll miss it...
