Description
1974 Norton Commando Roadster MK2 At 12,529 original miles this is a low milage 47 year old classic Norton. The restoration was performed with the objective of keeping the machine as near original as possible inside and out. Where possible all original nuts and bolts and other fittings were retained. New nuts and bolts and fittings were used where required; however, they are direct in kind replacements. There was no wholesale replacement of these items with non OEM stainless steel fittings. Some upgrades were made; however, without compromising the look, feel and sound of a Commando (see below for a list of work done). Serious buyers are welcome to come see the bike or have it inspected. The union jack color scheme design is an original 1974 offering from the factory and was this Norton”s original livery. Included with this bike are the following manuals and books related to this restoration: Norton Motorcycles 850-750 Workshop Manual Norton Motorcycles 850 Commando Parts List Norton Motorcycles 850 Commando Riders Manual Hanyes Norton Owner's Workshop Manual Norton Twin Restoration, By Roy Bacon Norton Commando Super Profile by Jeff Clew Changes: The few changes made from the original during the bike”s restoration were “bolt-ins” ie. they can be unbolted and the original parts substituted.
