I'm selling a very rare, running, original survivor 1967 Honda Z50M "Monkey Bike" with clear title and exceptional documentation.
The bike was professionally cleaned and serviced by a local restorer with attention on keeping it original. The inside of the gas tank has a liner that is deteriorating and there is considerable rust. There are no leaks in the gas tank so I decided to add a fuel filter and clear line, which I pull off and drain the sediment after each time I run it. I tried several methods to clean the tank which didn't work, so I decided to leave as is. It is a survivor with less than 900 miles. All original except;- foam has been added under the original seat cover - fuel filter with clear fuel line to compensate for a gas tank problem- new spark plug, rebuilt kit for carb, innertube, light bulbs
This bike was imported from Japan in 1968 by a friend's dad who was an airline pilot. The provenance includes; - Official Bill of Sale for this bike from Okinawa Honda Motor Co with frame and engine numbers, dates, stamps, signatures and Honolulu May 1968 customs stamp (see photo)- a small sales receipt from Okinawa Honda Motor Co dated May 6, 1968 that shows price of $175.00- the original invoice for 10 bikes from Honda Motor Corporation Tokyo to Okinawa Honda Motor Co dated July 13, 1967 - the original Frame and Engine Number list for 10 bikes from Honda Motor Corporation to Okinawa Honda Motor Co.- the original customs receipt for $13.55 in duties shipped via TWA- original owners manual in excellent shape- original tool kit
I have the new plate with tags and insurance card for when I ride it on the street.
I have posted four videos of it on a playlist on YouTube here
