Up for Grabs is a completely Rebuilt 1948 EL Engine. I purchased the left case with the paperwork a bunch of years ago and stashed it in the pile (I have 5 Buildings full of parts). It stayed buried until recently when myself and my partner purchased a large inventory of Panhead parts. I was able to grab all the necessary pieces to bring this engine back to life and here she is. The engine is a 1948 EL factory left case with factory VIN Number It had a proffessionally done repair by a certified welder to the right of the vin boss which I had done prior to the build. The right case is from a 1951 EL Both cases were bolted together, motor mounts were decked to match and the races were line bored. The cylinders are factory 1948 EL no broken fins, rebored and painted factory high heat silver. Oil pump is factory 1948, Lifter stools are correct aluminum. Heads are date code matching 1948 heads and have been professionally rebuilt with no broken fins, cast iron guides, new nitrated valves. new correct 1948,49 threaded inserts, correct 1948 chrome pan tops with no d-rings and correct screws, factory EL manifold, Cam cover is a new reproduction (Appears as original). All internals are OEM, (cam, distributor drive gear, breather. etc.) Lifters are solid and pushrods and covers are factory. All hardware is correct finish and most is OEM. I am the local president of the AMCA Chapter here on Long Island and have been a Judge with the club for over 40 years. This engine Can be used in an AMCA restored Machine. Might loose a half point for mismatched belly numbers. I sell engines like this open so that every one can see whats inside. The Short block can be crated in a wooden crate and the rest of the pieces will be shipped in a large box. You are free to come to the shop and pick it up.
