1988 Yamaha XT600ZE Tenere (3AJ)

I've owned this bike since August 2013, but it hasn't had much use in the last few years. With the impending expansion of the ULEZ, I think it's time to let someone else enjoy it.
I bought the bike pretty much as it is now. The previous owner had rebuilt the engine using a mixture of 3AJ and 1VJ components, hence the engine isn't original. However it does have both electric and kick start. The previous owner also spent a load of money on NOS parts such as the tank, fairing, wheel rims and spokes. The frame was powder coated and the engine resprayed. During my ownership I've changed a few bits here and there such as the Laser ProDuro silencer, and a few other cosmetic bits. I have fitted lots of stainless steel fasteners but will include all the originals I have. The bike will also come with a few spares including a Yamaha workshop manual, an untested CDI and a few other bits and bobs.
In 2020 I noticed there was a small fuel leak where the fairing bracket is welded to the tank on the LHS. The tank was taken to a specialist in Norwich, the tank was cleared of rust and coated internally with a fuel resistant paint, at a cost of £350. The tank is now fuel tight, but there is a very small stain caused by the leak, and in protecting the paint, some of the lacquer has peeled off. I've tried to show this in the photos but it isn't that obvious.
The MOT runs out on February 25th 2023, but the bike has only covered 253 miles since the last MOT.
Overall, a very clean, tidy XT600ZE Tenere looking for a good home. It may not be 100% original but it looks and goes well for a 34 year old vehicle. Cash on collection or bank transfer accepted.
