Description
This is my Ariel Huntmaster 650cc Twin, a 1958 Chopper with 1945 Norton 16H Girder Forks. The Huntmaster originally has a Swing Arm Frame, but this one has been chopped to give a rigid back end, and raked headstock, with the girder forks properly extended to accommodate the rake.
I have a V5 with age related number plate, and the bike is currently sorned. I also have a spare Swing Arm Frame which will come with it, and with a little effort this could get a V5 and age related number plate too.
I bought the bike 3 years ago as a basket case in a number of boxes, and have been slowly dry assembling it to see what parts were needed for a full rebuild. The engine is almost identical to a BSA A10 650 twin, and the cylinder head on this one is from an A10 with A10 rocker cover. There is a spare cylinder head there too, but it has a broken fin. During that time I have had new valve seats fitted to the cylinder head professionally, and have shot blasted the frame and forks, which were then painted with primer. I have also had a local engineering company make new spindles for the girder forks. I have sourced and fitted new clutch plates too. To carry out the work to date I have now got a copy of the original Workshop Manual, plus a massive amount of information and exploded diagrams showing all the major components. I have had to source many parts and have found the Ariel Owners Club immensely helpful, and company called Draganfly too, who stock many parts for the bike.
I have “dry” assembled the bike to stage you see in the pictures. I have a full gasket set, but none have been fitted, as nothing has been fully tightened. Whoever takes the project on will need to completely pull it all apart, but at least in the knowledge that all major components are there, barring a few, such as the Primary Chain, Final Drive Chain, Wiring Loom, cables.
I offer the bike for sale with all the spares I have and will include a significant number of imperial tools that I will no longer need.
If you are interested then please message me with reasonable offers around £1950. You will need a van to collect from the New Forest, Hampshire.
