Description
I have listed this as a project but it runs and rides well and i have ridden it for many years to and from work and also on the local trails. My new job is further away so its time to part company after a long ownership. Its a 1958 huntmaster frame with a 1954 350cc red hunter iron engine (the best i reckon)I had it dated by draganfly motorcycles and the frame was originally from an export sports model 650 with high comp pistons. All the frames are the same anyway. The dating certificate is with the paperwork which includes a V5 in my name with the correct engine and frame numbers that are on the bike. Its registered as an historic vehicle so no mot or tax to pay for. It has a mikcarb mikuni copy carburettor from an Enfield (extremely economical and runs well) I have fitted a Thor spark electronic ignition by Sussex motorcycles which fits inside the end cap of the original magneto and is much more reliable. The advance and retard still work but you don't need to touch the lever. There is a new battery fitted. The lights are 12v led H4 so hardly any current draw and they are nice and bright. The dynamo has a 12v conversion by Armoto, although this was many years ago. The fuel tank is from an Ariel Colt to make it a nice size for trail riding. Its ready to ride although there are a few things to play with if you like to fiddle. There is a slightly weak return spring on the gear lever although it changes gear well. The exhaust valve inspection cap is siliconed in place. The tyres are old and perished but have tread (no mot required!) The chain and sprockets are tired, i did buy a new rear sprocket but its a poor quality item leaving too much space on the rear axle, i would recommend one from Draganfly if you are bothered. Paintwork is old and the bike is in 'oily rag' condition, nice patina though. The speedo does not work. I had the rear brake shoes religned recently, but the brakes are still rubbish. The clutch is nice and light with recent new plates. Oil pump is a recon unit from Draganfly. There is a centre stand and side stand, the centre stand is easy to use. The exhaust header pipe is only afew years old and its got a nice exhaust note. The wheel rims are matt black but solid. All in all its a fun british bike with some useful modern mods for every day use. You could take it all apart and restore it or just ride it, its up to you. Collection only from Ashwellthorpe near Norwich Norfolk. I could deliver it locally byriding it to your house and getting a lift back with my wife, please message me. Cash on collection or bank transfer, please don't paypal.
