Please read and digest fully.
I bought this lovely example of the iconic 70's Z1000 only a short while ago having had one in the 80's. I am an avid and mature (68 years young) petrol head and only buy the best I can find, however, my wife having this week convinced me to buy a motorhome for touring, and also owning a BMW R18 and Mercedes AMG Sports Car, I have to accept that I am not going to give it the use and care a classic motorcycle merits.
The previous owner had owned it for 7 years along with several other bikes and spent considerable time and money getting it to were it is now. He had promised to send me all the receipts for work done (I hold his email to that effect) including a top end rebuild but I have yet to see them! He does spend 6 months of the year with his work in Australia, but I will pass his contact details to the new owner.
Don't let this put you off though as I had my local 'Shop (Monster Motorcycles - West Wales)' go right through the bike and had it mot'd for piece of mind. The only issues found and which were rectified were: a sticking rear brake calliper and faulty return spring, brake light not working via front brake, brake fluid required changing.
The bike is classed as historic, so there is no mot required and it has free road tax, insurance for me is less than £100!
I would rate its condition, as an 81/2-9 out of 10 condition, but you must judge for yourself and I do welcome any inspection.
I have uploaded plenty of photographs for your consideration.
I am into the bike for around £8500.
I do know that the bike has had: New tyres, Silencers, Battery, Ignition Barrel & Seat Lock, (Old one only had 1 key), Fuel Cap. It has an optimate lead fitted also. The only other change from the photos is a polished Points Cover instead of the finned one, but I still have it so the choice to change back isn't a problem.
I don't need the cash, so would greatly appreciate no timewasters, or chancers asking 'What would you take for it mate'!
I do know of a very reliable courier if you require it and they are competitively priced.
Any questions then do not hesitate to ask, but remember it is a 47 year old classic motorcycle.
NOTE:
As requested I have added today close up photos of the bike's engine, instruments, seat, original 'Ad' from Sean who I purchased it from and the mot from earlier this month.
To answer a couple of questions: There is a Centre Stand Fitted, There are 2 keys for the Ignition and Seat Lock, There are 2 keys for the Fuel Cap, There are 2 mirrors fitted.
I will also include, a new Haynes Workshop Manual and an Owners Manual (Rare as Hens Teeth) which I sourced from the USA at £45!
