Description
Triumph Thunderbird 1700 Big Bore.
The Triumph Thunderbird is one of the best cruisers on the Market as voted by many magazines and websites including the USA where Harley is king. The Triumph is the British. Reliable and Parallel twin equivalent. It handles fantastically. has massive torque. bags of power. awesome sound and a comfortable ride. You wont be beaten from the lights by ANYTHING!The Big Bore 1700 was a special edition that lasted one year in 2010. It has the 1700cc engine factory fitted and ABS. It is the only 1700cc model from the factory other than Storm so still retains the classic single headlight. chrome touches and polished wheels.
With only 3000 miles on the clock and full service history the bike is in great condition.
From brand new the bike came with the T Bars. Short Sports Exhausts and IGT Performance Air Filter. I have the originals all boxed up and included. Since new I have added a few custom extras such as a Dart Screen. Rear Rack & Back Rest. Easy Brackets and Viking Panniers. Original Triumph Tear Drop Drilled Stem Mirrors and Long Haul seat has been purchased and I have two original seats too as well as the passenger seat. Also it has a stainless De-Cat connector pipe for added sound and power. A Powercommander 5 has been fitted and hours spent on the dyno getting it running perfectly. This map has been shared with forum members all over the world and they have all said how fantastic it makes the bike ride. The original bike had a matt grey rear pulley that looked out of place with the rest of the bike so I bought a satin black one as found on the Storm.
Over its first three years it did 1000 miles and only ever ridden in the dry in the summer months. This September I had it serviced and did 1000 miles to Brno Moto GP where it led the way and didn't miss a beat. I installed a USB power supply for my sat nav but it is hidden in the headlight as its not really a cruiser thing to have a power supply on the handle bars. It is very comfortable after 6 hours riding and kept the sports bike on their toes. One top trick is you can also use the rear pegs whilst cruising to give your legs a rest.
I have kept all the receipts for everything. have lots of paperwork. badges. stickers. key rings etc. etc as if it were a collectible. which one day I am sure it will.
Its a fantastic bike. I have many photos and lots of information so please do get in touch if you have any questions. Thanks.
