Description
1924 BSA h3 colonial in what I believe to be complete apart from one outer casing covering the magneto drive.
Collected over the years enough and more to make this a runner for the summer. Received in jigsaw form and put together loosely to see how wonderful it looked this BSA should be an easy restoration for anyone. No rust damage whatsoever. straight and solid frame.
Loads of new/original parts including a complete lamp set for the sidecar as well new can/cogs if that's what they're called and new/original push rod things. magneto gave a shock up to my elbow so that's fine silencer. Exhaust gearbox all there. no holes in petrol tank and complete with oil plunger and petrol tap and a few spare filler caps and fillets. Also with loads of original BSA transfers for tank and other sundries. I can't find the long adjustable rod that goes from the gear lever to the gearbox. but might come across it yet. Carbide container for lamps is present.
Registration number is on a v5 and is PY1186 date of first registration - 15th April 1924. Chassis no 7550 and engine number 275. I did buy two new inner tubes and put on the tyres that were with it. New/old stock and they are all inflated. but rear beaded edge is bulging. So will probably need one or more tyres. also replaced three spokes from the pile of spokes supplied. small ones and larger ones. also has new brake blocks for those dangerous looking brakes. more photos to come and any questions please ask and I will try to answer as best I can.
IT ALSO HAS A PAIR OF NEW / ORIGINAL EXCELLENT NICKEL PLATED DINNERLEVERS THAT FIT IN THE END OF THE HANDLEBARS AND THERE ARE A LOAD OF CABLES FOR BRAKES ETC. ALSO THE CARBURETTOR STILL HAS ITS TWO CABLES IN IT TO GO TO THE NUMEROUS ORIGINAL LEVERS ON THE HANDLE BARS.
New levers for the end of the handlebars. also new piston and new rings still in their wrappers. and those are new can wheels in the picture of the engine. with nice new lifters to go to the new push rods.
CARBURETTOR IN BACKGROUND IN EXCELLENT CLEAN CONDITION. CLUTCH HAS ALL THE STEEL PLATES AND ALL THE ASBESTOS ONES. AND THE WEE CUPS WITH NEW SPRINGS IN THEM. WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY TO GET SO MUCH IN ONE BUNDLE. VARIOUS DUPLICATED BITS FOR ENGINE AND BOX ON HALF A DOZEN SHELVES.
Forgot to say it has a nice new/old nickel plated kick starter pedal as well as all the above.
Sidecar body might need new floorboards and lead beading around edges all cover brass fittings present as is the wee boot lid for your luggage. Sidecar chassis very good to excellent condition. straight and non rusty. lovely wee BSA stamped hubcap for sidecar wheel. Side car wheel has new tube fitted although the beaded edge of the wheel rim was coming away in places. ee separate listing for two new/old stock wheel rims and spokes.
I have started dismantling the bike again and am boxing all the bits up. can't overstate the cleanliness of all parts with no rust or corrosion apart from surface rust on baffle.
Speedometer is being sold separately as are lots of other early bits.
Cash on collection within one month. The bike is in the highlands of Scotland IV 25 if you want to look it up.
