1925 BSA model L25 350cc, part restored, with V5C doc
Here is an interesting vintage BSA 350cc side-valve which has clearly had quite a lot of renovation work carried out at some point and has then been laid up unfinished. The enamel on the frame is very good and the bike has been preserved with Waxoyl or similar preservative. The mudguards and tinware has a coating of Waxoyl and dust which is quite difficult to clean off.
The engine and gearbox look to have been rebuilt. There is no fin damage on the engine, all screws and fixing look good. The engine turns over OK.
Wheels have been rebuilt and would clean up very nicely. Tyres look to have been replaced but are already old looking if totally unworn. Tank is sound but obviously needs painting. Acetylene lamps, gear shift gate and other sundries included in a box! Notable missing parts are: timing cover, timing chain & mag sprocket. Control cables, exhaust system. I doubt these parts would be too difficult to obtain.
The machine comes with a V5C doc, registration BF 9692 (cannot be transferred to another vehicle). Frame number 2515, engine number 2390, both match V5C The bike is registered for historic (free) road tax and is MOT exempt. there are the remnants of a sales brochure for this model. I would say as vintage projects go this will be a very easy one to complete and bring to a very nice all round condition.
