Description
1972 Norton Commando 920cc
Featured on the front cover of the 200th edition of *Classic Bike Guide* magazine - December 2007, with a fully featured article inside by Nigel Clarke. (The magazine comes with the bike.)
Rebuilt 920cc engine by the late Fred Barlow, who worked for Norton Motorcycles and was the no. 1 mechanic for Jeff Smith, British Scrambles Champion. The engine has been totally rebuilt using many special competition parts with the most extensive attention to detail.
The gearbox is completely rebuilt using a new shell and casings, with all new seals, bearings, bushes, main shaft, sleeve gear, lay shaft, and gears. The new clutch is of a racing dry sealed bearing type with a new 40mm belt primary drive.
New Maxton front and rear suspension.
New 36mm Mk. 2 Amal Concentric smooth bore carburettors.
New straight-through silencers and Norvil front pipes.
Norvil head steady with Mk3 isolastics.
Alloy racing rims and tyres (with stainless spokes).
Norvil 12" disc with Lockheed racing caliper at the front with a rear vented drum and racing linings.
New Norvil racing rear sets and all new bodywork, new clocks, cables, etc.
This bike has covered only 12 miles approximately since the rebuild and is in impeccable condition throughout. The engine and frame number match, and it comes with a V5 certificate. Classic Racing Club eligible, suitable for track days or road use.
