Description
Managed by Vincent Davey. the South London based Norton agent Gus Kuhn's was one of the most prominent teams in Formula 750 in the late 1960s early 70s. supplying among others Mick Andrew. Charlie Sanby and Dave Potter with machines. The Kuhn teams own bikes were tuned in house by Jim Broughton and in Charlie Sanby's hands proved good enough to beat Peter Williams works Norton on several occasions in 1971.
I purchased the bike from the Bonhams classic auction at Beaulieu September 2011(lot 363). it had been fully restored between 2008/9 and had in excess of £3000 spent on it. with a large folder of receipts and all the bikes history from new.
The engine was rebuilt by Norman White Motorcycle Engineering Thruxton. Norman White formerly Norton Villiers development - John Player Norton - Honda Britain. The motorcycle was completely overhauled and tuned including a PW3 camshaft designed by Peter Williams former Norton race department chief engineer and number 1 rider. The bike has rebuilt alloy wheels front and rear. reconditioned front forks and stainless 2 into 1 exhaust system. Mot until March 2015 and Historic vehicle taxation class (free).
The bike has been sparingly used and has only covered a couple of hundred miles since the rebuild and is in excellent condition.
