Description
Superb example. Totally rebuilt/restored to original very early spec. It is dated in the first 2 months of delivery by Norton in May 1968. It is one of the first 300 through the doors of the Norton factory. Restored by a good engineer with help from a Top Norton owners club restorer/member. So it is as right as it can be. a lot of parts were different on these early production models. Which took some sourcing. But the result is fantastic. Hardly turned a wheel since rebuild. Will need running in. Matching numbers. Frame 126401. Engine 20M3/126401.
Very rare fastback Commando. Number 276 of the line in 1968. Blue chip investment. Better than money in the stupid banks. a pleasure to own. 18k miles is thought to be genuine. Although the restorer fitted new pistons/bearings etc. e did note that there was very little wear on the engine when stripped. a great investment classic at £12995 (now done a few miles on it.
Running in nicely. Starts 2nd or 3rd kick. Rides superbly. You can see why they were bike of the year several times in the 60's and 70's. Lovely bottom end grunt. o vibes. Very comfy riding position. like it. like it a lot. Think I can see some classic ride outs looming)
