Description
In 1955 BSA built it's first production off road racer mainly for the American market. This was the ROCKET SCRAMBLER. It was built for the American T. T. races of the period. These wore low level exhaust pipes (please refer to images) and in there day were known as DESERT SLEDS.
This is a recreation of those glory days of fire breathing T. T. monsters.
This machine has had a complete nut and bolt restoration. top-to-bottom. end-to-end. All brightwork is either stainless steel. e wheel spokes. nickel plated. ie nuts and bolts. or aluminum. ie wheels and mudguards. All the paintwork on the frame cycle sections are deep black stove enameled high lustre finish. Engine built to Road Rocket spec. 400 odd miles since rebuild (refer to tacho image).
Machine is road legal. and requires no MOT and is historic taxed. Any question. please just ask. I hope to answer all ASAP.
It was built and bought to go off road riding during the winter period. it was built too good. and I don't have the heart to get it muddy. also I live in central London. and don't get out to the countryside enough. but it's been a great bike in summer to buzz about London. Would make a great Bobber. re 65 Trail Blazer. Classic MotoX for somebody. I have another project I really need to get on with (Harley XLCH) and so I need the garage space. I would dearly love to keep this bike. its simple in design. typically British. and sounds fantastic.
