BSA COMPETITION ZB32 GOLDSTAR ALMOST FINISHED PROJECTRARE RIGID FRAME MODEL
I acquired this lovely old BSA GoldStar three years ago from an Englishman living in Bharain. He had taken it with him many years ago when he decided to live. and work there. apparantely owning the bike for several years. using it in competitions in the UK.
However with the advancing years he laid the bike up undercover where it remained for a long time.
She emerged just over three years ago. covered in reddy brown dust. but well preserved. and was shipped back to the UK crated to myself.
On first inspection everything appeared to be red rusty. but it was baked on dust. very little corrosion.
She was jet cleaned. and stripped down. The chassis. and other painted cycle parts were sent off for professional powder coating. The wheels were rebuilt with new alloy rims. and stainless spokes.
Hubs. and brakes were cleaned out. bearings checked. and repacked with grease. The whole bike was gone through from front to rear/top to bottom.
The engine was stripped. cleaned. and found to be in very good mechanical condition. vapour blasted. Then rebuilt with new piston rings. valve springs. and a regrind of the valves. That is all she needed.
The gearbox was cleaned out. and a new drive side bearing fitted. Clutch was worn out. and replaced with a new much later four spring item. which is a massive improvement over the original six spring model.
Other new parts include; pair of competition tyres. sprung saddle. exhaust pipe. silencer. handlebars. throttle twist grip control. rear brake rod. pillion footrests.
The bike is almost finished. the magneto appears to work okay. but maybe a specialist check over first.
There is no carburetor as it was missing when the bike arrived. she will also need a pair of new alloy mudguards. not expensive. and easily available. mudguard fixings. and brackets are included. and have been powder coated.
The Smiths chronometric speedo appears to work. but can be reconditioned if needed.

I have a dating certificate from the Vintage Motorcycle Club clarifying the authenticity of this bike which will be included. and enable the purchaser to register her back in the UK where she belongs.
