Description
Suzuki GT 750 A. 1976
Welcome to my nut & bolt restoration of a 1976 Suzuki GT 750 A “Kettle”.
This UK spec bike which was supplied in the hot summer of 76 has been stripped to individual components and sympathetically & accurately restored to virtually how it was when supplied new 39 years ago.
Restoration was extensive over 2009 – 2011 when a new zero miles speedo was fitted. It has covered less than 4000 gentle dry summer miles since rebuild.
And further extensive work continued until Feb 14. Original matching / original numbers bike as supplied from new. Chassis number – GT750 70711 - Engine number 77651
There is high quality powder coat giving a deep black gloss to the frame - swing arm – fork yokes – calipers – lever mounts – foot rest hangers and main stand. Many parts have been re-chromed to ‘Show' chrome standard which is nickel + copper + chrome as opposed to the usual nickel & chrome only. This gives a deeper shine and many parts that were cheaply plated from new are now chrome. making it very eye catching indeed!
The paintwork has been restored to the original colour of Coronado Blue (Code 797) with the correct black & silver pin stripes. The side panels have new correct badges & cci sticker and all the original factory warning stickers have been painstakingly acquired and replaced in exactly the right places. mm perfect as follows for you perfectionists: Handle bars – high revs warning. Petrol Flap – coolant info. Petrol tank - brake fluid warning. Right fork leg – wet braking warning. Calipers – correct foil type stickers. Rear mudguard - tyre pressure info. And even the yellow radiator cap sticker the purists want. which you can no longer get. is intact!
There are just too many new parts to list but a few are; new stainless wheel rims with stainless spokes – new high quality UK made Delkevic pattern exhaust as there seem to be no NOS ones left in the world. New……chain / sprockets - mirrors – front mudguard – crank seals – regulator – points – filters – steering lock – pistons & rings –head bolts – starter motor - brake hoses – seat base – chain guard - carb parts.
Carbs were ultra sonic cleaned. overhauled & balanced with all new seals. The bike comes with the correct seat with Suzuki script as supplied on all 75 – 77 bikes. The bike is fitted with a Suzuki accessory rear carrier part number 46310-31000 and period engine crash bars. The mileage at relaunch in 2012 time was 30.000 when the speedo was returned to zero and the bike has covered under 4000 dry miles since. The history folder will take a day to read and records the bikes history starting with an earliest MOT for 1997 and the £10.000 restoration cost since June 2009.
The bike is supplied with keys – V5 – original tool kit – well thumbed Haynes manual. a full tank of 2 stroke oil and recently refreshed correct transmission oil as recommended by owners clubs. Everything works as it should and there are no fluid leaks.
The MOT runs until June 15 but 12 months can be added if wanted although you will see it is perfect.
You might find one ‘very slightly' cheaper but you will regret it if this one parks next to you! The ones around £7000 are simply not in the same league. This is cheap for it's condition. The quality of this restoration will add to your riding pleasure and interest from others. and it will only go up in value over time. These are becoming rarer & more desirable as the years pass; they still ride well by modern standards allowing days out with your mates with no problems and they have a cult following in the UK. Europe & USA. Come and have a look at the underside and you will see it really is like a new bike !
The bike is kept indoors so can be viewed in full light day or evening and I am easy to catch for the next few weeks. Feel free to come and have a look & a cuppa. no pressure. in this condition and price it will sell itself.
I am a private seller and only selling as I need the room. cleared funds please to ride away.
Thanks for looking.
