Description
This complete B40 has matching frame & engine No's. it has been off the road since 1992
It has a 3 number 3 letter registration number which is transferable. on the log book it says 1984 registered but 1964 manufactured. so it may have been imported or re-reg in 84 and they gave it a 3 number 3 letter without the 'B' or' C' suffix for 1964
A real 'barn find' (well. dry stored in a garage really) it is on SORN and the V5C log book is in my name so no problems with DVLA
Ok. about the bike. it is complete and has been turned over since being laid up by the previous owner. it was laid up due to a lighting fault.
I have strapped a battery to it (the one on the bike is no good) the lights work fine except the brake light which will need sorting. I gave the carb a quick de-gunge and the fuel tap. put a new petrol pipe on. fresh petrol and oil and she runs. bags of compression. The throttle and choke cables are U. S. so hard to keep it running but she starts.
The tin-ware is all good even under the battery. tyres are good but I would replace with new before riding.
As stated I have had it running although it is spitting back through the carb a bit so will need tinkering with the carb settings
It has a broken clear lens on the back light but I have a repro one that can go with the bike. the light switch needs a new top. all brakes work and it engages all gears. the clutch seems ok
The bike has done 200 miles since it's last MOT in 1992
The paintwork and chrome bits have marks see photo's. it will make a good oily rag resto or a good base for a proper restoration
Engine and frame No's are both B40 41**
Please ring to view. I could deliver locally if required for the cost of fuel. I am only available for viewing in the evenings. I will bring the bike to my house for a viewing (Burnley Lancs) (no lighting where it is kept)
£100 payment by Paypal within 24 hrs or cash. and cash on collection within 1 week. If you want me to deliver (locally only) it must be paid for first.
A good honest complete bike for a winter project
