Description
1939 BSA 350cc Trials Bike awesome runner with V5C
Here is a lovely example of a Bert PerRigo / Stanley Woods style pre war BSA trials machine.
This bike is in excellent mechanical order. It was used up until 2012 when ill-health over took the previous owner. It is still in super working order. It starts easily and sounds absolutely awesome. It's amazing how much more lively pre-war bikes generally were in comparison with their more mundane. austerity led dulled down post-war counter parts.
This bike flys! It really does go well. Nice and light with road gearing. Excellent clutch and gears all good. Speedo works on and off but flickers quite badly most of the time.
Handling is superb. brakes are OK. front more suited to off road use than on!
The exhaust note of this 350 BSA is as crisp and as lovely as many a Goldie or competition machine. The bike is obviously quite high compression. but it ticks over beautifully as well. so I assume the carb is all in good order.
The only paperwork with the bike is the V5c document. The bike has its original (transferable) registration number FUL 185. Frame number is KB21 1295. engine number is KB25 387. The engine number looks to have been re-stamped but the frame number is original.
The bike is registered for historic class (free) road tax and is pre-60 MOT exempt.
Cosmetically the bike is in generally very nice old bike condition. It has patina and is not mint. It also has some poor chrome. eg primary chaincase outer.
The paint on the frame is decent old enamel.
The front rim is a Radelli 21” in good but not perfect condition. Rear rim is an original Dunlop item in very good condition. Spokes are clean. dull rustless on the front. rear ones have been painted silver.
The chrome on the tank is very good and there are no dents but the paint is old and a bit patinated but looks the part.
Exhaust & silencer have excellent chrome. All the controls and handlebars looks very clean & tidy. Mudguards have decent chrome but there are couple of small patches on the rear one.
There is no fin damage on the engine and no obvious oil leaks.
All in all this is an excellent & rare opportunity to own a very sporting 350cc pre-war BSA. Ideal for most classic motorcycling purposes and totally great fun to ride for the sake of it!
Don't miss this girder rigid Beeza!
