Description
The 1939 BSA WM20 500cc classic motorcycle is a vintage gem that embodies the nostalgia of a bygone era. With its iconic design and reliable manual transmission, this bike is perfect for riders who appreciate the craftsmanship of a classic motorcycle.
The 500cc engine size provides a smooth and powerful riding experience, while the present V5 registration document ensures that this timeless piece of British motorcycle history can be enjoyed for years to come. Whether you're a seasoned rider or a collector of vintage motorcycles, the 1939 BSA WM20 is sure to turn heads and provide endless hours of enjoyment on the road. It's the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden, and the smiles and waves I've go whilst riding makes it even nicer.
This bike survived the war only to be left by the British in Italy, it was then tucked away by an Italian in a barn until it was more his than theirs and that's where it remained for decades. Pulled out and then repatriated a few years ago it was in really good condition. I bought it from the previous owner who found it and had spent a small fortune on it. I have lots of receipts, original tools and bits. It also comes with the magazine it was featured in and pannier bags and a centre stand, dating certificates and other paperwork.
Last time I used it was 18 months ago when the clutch cable snapped, luckily I carried some spares and made one at the side of the road. Since then its sat in my shed it will need a light recommissioning and checking over before being ridden.
The speedo is not original on the bike.
Please do ask questions or come and see it. I am not too mechanically minded but I will try to answer any questions plus there are lots of good forums on FB to answer technical questions.
