Description
1968 BSA D14/4 175cc. Excellent runner. Full MOT.
Here is a good example of the ever popular BSA Bantam. This is a late 175cc 4 speed incarnation and quite a lively little bike it is! Easily as quick as most post war British 350cc models if not a bit sprightlier! It has been in regular use.
Starts ok. sounds great! Lights good charging OK. speedo OK. brakes reasonable. handling nice. This is a very light fun little bike. easy to get on with. easy to handle & manoeuvre on road & around shed!
The bike comes with V5C doc. original registration dating from 30th Sept 1968. FNK 94G.
Frame number is D1410437. engine number is D10A 4175
There is an MOT until January and the bike is registered for historic (free) road tax.
Cosmetically the bike is in very tidy presentable but well used. "old bike" condition.
The paint on the frame is generally very good older paint. The tinware is all good quality enamel but older. Chrome on the tank has dulled. Wheel rims have poor patchy dull chrome. decent clean spokes though. The front tyre is as new Bridgestone. rear is a budget type K70 copy. also as new.
Exhaust is excellent. seat is excellent. no fin damage to barrel. tiny chip on cylinder head on timing side.
All in all this is a excellent fun lightweight machine. well capable of keeping up with most classic bike runs. They were always cheap and cheerful transport in the day and are still relatively good value now for a vintage club eligible classic British bike!
Don't miss this sweet running BSA Bantam.
