AJS 1958 Model 16MCS Short Stroke Barn Find (Matchless, Competition, Scrambles)

This barn find original AJS short stroke competition bike will make an ideal winter rebuild project for the next lucky owner.
It is a genuine bike with its original engine, gearbox and other components which all left the factory together and is NOT assembled from parts.
It comes with its original 1958 dated buff logbook, a later green continuation book as well as a current V5C.
During its life the bike has been significantly modified in order to reduce weight and to retain its competitive edge. Aluminium parts include the competition petrol tank, central oil tank, engine plates, bottom frame rails and front tank mounts. the downtube has been modified to fit the engine plates. In addition, the rear loop looks to be from a Triumph Cub or similar.
Since aquiring the bike we have add a reconditioned competition magneto and we've had the bike running. The engine sounds really nice and has lots of compression and we can whatsapp the video of it running.
