Description
Rare 1957 BMW R69 Motorcycle for Sale.
Up for sale is a rather rare airhead: a 1957 BMW R69 (Non-S version), which is the predecessor of the R69S with only 2,819 units built, unlike the 15,347 R69S models.
As the third owner of this motorcycle, it began its life in Chicagoland, where the engine was professionally rebuilt by Chicago Motorworks in 2007, and the wheels were rebuilt by Woody Wheels in 2008. A folder with receipts for all this work will be provided. The original transmission remains untouched, as it has always functioned fine and does not need refurbishing.
The motorcycle has been upgraded from 6 volts to a 12-volt system, proving to be much more reliable. Additionally, electronic ignition has been installed, and paperwork/schematics will be provided to show how it was done.
Detailed maintenance records have been kept by the prior owner and myself. The bike has been repainted and, although it may not win any competitions for originality, it is completely reliable for cross-country travel and offers ample power for electronic accessories such as a phone charger or heated gear.
This awesome R69 has had around $12,000 USD of JUST work done, along much more in miscellaneous parts to modernize it. It is being sold only because of an upcoming move out of the US. This R69 turns heads and garners thumbs up wherever it goes. Don't miss your chance to own something special and reliable.
