Description
Ariel NG 350cc 1948 Rigid, Classic, Vintage Motorcycle. In unrestored condition selling as a non running project. Previous owner owned the bike for approx. 16 years and spent quite a lot of money on it. Both magneto and dynamo have been re-furbished and has a new Wassell carb fitted.
Front brake re-lined, new fork seals, new Margo oil pump fitted. Also chains were replaced at the same time. New clutch parts fitted, new wheel bearings, new battery, re-furbished speedo.
Over 10 years ago the gear box was completely re-built by a specialist and worked a treat (grease filled of course). This makes it more ironic that the kick start mechanism has now failed and made it a non-runner! before this the engine was mechanically sound, started easy and ran well. However it should be a straight forward fix for someone who has the facility's, time and knowledge to sought it out. This is how I brought the bike from a very nice gentleman.
Only selling through health reasons, been kept in dry dry storage, V5 log book in my name, has old mot's, lots of receipts etc. from Dragon fly motors. Also has receipt for the gear box etc.
NOTE: The bike does have a problem with the kick start, not sure what the issue is as I have not been able to look into it. Selling as a non-runner. Still looks clean and tidy for a 78 year old bike. A lovely old British bike needing to go back on the road. MOT and tax exempt. Frame and engine numbers match the V5 logbook. Cash on collection from Peterborough.
THURSDAY 5th March: The bike was kicked over today and turned the engine over but the kickstart did not return, so could just be the return spring but can't be sure it is just this. Bike ran over a year ago by the previous owner.
