History
Kawasaki made the Tandum twin as part of a celebration of there famous world championship wins and was mainly for the Japanese market. though not the quickest 250 it was unique having a Tandum twin engine.
This runs 2 cylinders Separated with a disc valve each and separate carbs as with Kawasakis 80's technology a box frame and unique under slung suspension was incorperated. along with anti dive fork set up as to GPZ style.
Though a bit GPZ looking the twin exhausts on one side set it apart and the rising sun tail light is very unusual. these were only made for a few years and the race for a rapid 250 against the Big 4 was on and the KR1S followed.
This though was a real milestone in the Kawasaki line up as the only other offering at the time was a badged Z250 4 stroke twin to comemorate the world championship which was a bit of a joke as it was as close to a racer as a dustbin.
This though was at least a taster of the Tandum twin engine and was received well in Japan by Kawasaki fans and still has a following today even though production was limited.
This is probably the closest you will get to a Racing KR250 Tandum twin.
Part ex possible even projects/non runners.
