Description
This bike has been the subject of a total nut an dbolt restoration and is now absoluetly stunning.
I have a dating certificate from the BSA Owners Club confirming that this matching numbers bike left the factory on 27th May 1966 and was despatched to BSA Motorcycles. Western Duarte. California. USA.
I am unsure of the date of reimportation to the UK but the V5C is correct for a 1966 UK bike and carries the "D" suffix. Registration is non transferable
I recently got the bike MOT'd and the only advisory is that the bike is not to be used at night as no lights fitted!
Hornet's were produced by BSA for a very short period between 1966 and 1967 as a purpose built off road and desert racer for the US markets. They were originally supplied without headlights. taillights. straight through exhausts and twin carburettors. All models were finished in "Manadarin Red". Steve Mcqueen famously test drove the Hornet and described it as a "keen bike"!
I cant think of any faults with tis machine. Simply mint!
I will consider a part exchange for another British bike - what have you got?
