Honda Gold Wing GL1100, 1981, 643 Miles

Honda Gold Wing GL 1100 with a true genuine mileage of only 643 miles from new.
First registered 31 march 1981 to the managing director of a tramway in Seaton Dorset. I traced and contacted him on the 8th november 2010. The retired gentleman confirmed the low mileage to be true. we had a lengthy interesting conversation on the bikes history. where it was kept. used and how he impulsively bought it from Parks London on a week end away with friends I bought the bike from an add in the Old Bike Mart in April 2005. It was advertised with 428 miles from new and was in poor condition. The add read as follows. 30 April 2005.

Honda Gold Wing GL1100 unique opportunity. This bike has done 428 miles only. laid up over 20 years. needs tlc. runs and paint good. I kept the bike for over two years with the intention of getting it back on the road. Changes in plans and work commitments forced me to put it up for sale knowing I would not have time to do it. I sold it to Bernard Kxxx living in Manchester. Bernard brought the bike back to the condition it is in today and has done a first class job. when the work was completed. Bernard brought it back to show me and said it was for sale again. Without hesitation I bought it back. I have not used it other than taking it to a local garage for mot on 8th April 2009 with 640 miles on the clock on 13 November 2012 I contacted the Old Bike Mart hoping the add would be on record to add to its history file. Within two hours the archivist found the add and replied sending the full page including the add. Many thanks to JS OBM.
The bike is not in concourse condition. it is in very nice condition and will stand out with the best. Some of the chrome parts show very small minor pit marks under the re chroming. Radiator shrouds need replacing. Exhausts are good condition. stainless not original. I have started it up and run it for a few minutes on occasions to keep the oils and fuel going round. It starts first turn. runs and idles very smooth with no noises or rattles. everything works. The brakes are free not sticking. it still has the original tires on it showing the little rubber bubbles in places. amazingly they are not perished. with handbook. toolkit. original key. the spare key is still the plastic cover. I have the OBM add supported with the emails sent and received plus the contact details of previous owners. This must be the lowest genuine mileage Wing available.
