Honda CB1100R CB900f CBX1000

This is my 1981 Honda CB1100RB.
It is a genuine UK bike from new. I purchased it nearly 6 years ago and it has been used sparingly since covering approximately 250 miles per year. I believe that the recorded mileage is correct as the bike was last taxed in 1986! (proof of this held from DVLA tax database. That said, you can only check from information that's available. Clearly having been stood since that time (static display) I went through the bike and replaced anything that needed replacing (tyres, brakes, chain/sprockets, seals etc) but it remains in remarkable condition for a machine that is over 40 years old. It is registered as historic.

The frame and engine numbers are correct for an 1100RB. Condition wise it looks to be original although I have refurbished both of the gold side casings as they were tarnished and let the bike down. The frame has not been resprayed, callipers, fork legs, wheels etc. all original.
The paintwork appears original and is in superb condition. I have slightly raised the seat foam (it was a bit low for me) but can quickly put it back to original if that's what you want – original seat covering held.
Exhaust was a replica stainless replacement back in 2020 from the club as the original internals had gone. I hated the huge indicators, so they have been replaced with smaller period ones but the originals are held. I also have the original nuts and bolts, chain and sprockets and some other bits if that's your thing. Everything works as it should. The engine is quiet, gears select as they should (and don't jump out), clutch is good. I have the original owners manual and lots of extra paperwork to go with the bike.

Only 1050 of these were made and not many came to the UK so its quite a rare machine. Personally, I have only ever seen another at a show and never on the road – but I am in Cornwall!
