Vincent 1955 'open' Series D

1955 Vincent Open Series D Rapide.

Here is my much loved and totally original Vincent.

Genuine reason for sale - I need to fund my many other projects. and feel it would be better for it to be owned by someone with the time and inclination to use it as God intended.

It is unrestored and generally as it left the factory. and is well known to the VOC.

Mileage is believed genuine @ 83k

It comes with some history - letters of commendation from previous owners. that toured at home and abroad with apparently 'no problems' and first time starting.

I have never encountered any problems myself but I have only done a thousand or so miles in the five years that I have had it. I have never laid a spanner on it.

I have an email from Conways that described the bike as 'one of the quietest Vincents that we have ever had'. And goes on to say that they suspected that the engine has never had any major work done to it. although this cannot be confirmed after 60 years.

It has had new Monoblocks fitted. along with an Alton Generator replacement.
