Seller notes: A mostly original unrestored example in good condition
Description
This sale is for my 1950 Vincent Rapide series C. This is an unrestored and to the best of my knowledge mostly original and unmolested example of a vincent twin. The paintwork is what was applied when it was first built and is still in very good condition. The frame and engine numbers are correct as are the crankcase casting numbers also has the original registration number. This Vincent still has its original clutch and magneto both of which work very well as intended from when it was first designed. During my ownership I have had the magneto rebuilt by a specialist who was recomended by a VOC member. The carburators are modern standard Amals 276's made by Burlen Fuel Systems who make exact copys with better matterials of the originals. I have also replaced the large idler gear in the timing chest with a steel one. this came from Maughan & Sons who also supplied the barrels and pistons which have better tollerances than the originals giving minimum oil consumption. The advance/retarde mech has also been properly rebuilt by a specialist again recomended through the VOC. The above work was done to refresh an old bike to be used for maximum enjoyment. This bike performs as designed and very well as my wife can testify from rides out with me on her Ducati monster. Certainly for a bike that is sixty four years old it has been a joy to own and use. I am selling her because I still have a few bikes on my bucket list to get through.
The next owner will need to arrange collection or ride her away. she is taxed and MOT'd after the funds have been transfered to my bank. Any questions ask through the usual channels. I will be happy to answer and I can supply more photos if requested.
