Description
Vintage Norton 18 OHV Motorcycle 1936.
OHV 500cc - Dry Sump - Four Speed Gearbox.
Extensive mechanical work and refurbishment by Norton specialist George Cohen in 2000.
Sympathetically and not overly restored with great patina. There is room to improve if a more shiny appearance is required.
Wheels. tyres and spokes are very good.
Frame in good order.
Magneto works well and produces a good spark.
Engine runs beautifully.
The front forks (small chips to finish) and petrol tank (some blisters to paint) could be repainted to bring it up to more pristine appearance.
This bike has lots of grunt and keeps up with modern traffic with ease.
Positive gear selection and an exhaust note like nothing most people have ever experienced!
It is running without a dynamo so the lights are not connected.
Taxed - MOT Exempt.
Buy a piece of history. The Norton 500cc bikes dominated the Isle of Man TT before the war and Che Guevara had one!
Excellent advice and spares support from the Norton Owners Club. plus a number of UK based Norton specialists if you don't want to get your hands too dirty.
PX or swap considered (car or bike) but prefer straight sale.
