A lovely original Moto Guzzi 1000cc G5 with only 11. 27 miles showing.
Coming to us from a deceased estate where the bike had been lying in dry storage for a long time.
We decided to sympathetically restore her for the road as she has much to offer. and many years of riding left in her.
Having cleaned her off. and giving the engine a full service we turned our attention to the brakes which were sticking on. This was cured by fully servicing the calipers. fitting new pistons. pads. and having the discs skimmed. a pair of new Conti tyres. and a set of progressive rear shocks from the USA took care of the running gear.
Other parts fitted included a new battery. and carburetor float needles. The front crash bars. and silencers were re-chromed. main stand was powder coated. and rocker covers vapor blasted. and that completed our work.
I had the pleasure of doing a road test covering 132 miles. and can confirm she runs very well. is stable at high speeds. and stops very impressively assisted by the linked braking system.
If you are looking for a classic Moto Guzzi that is practical to use. offering the charms of her era then this could be the bike for you. Still with original service book. not many left in sound unmolested. original condition like this one.
