1979 Moto Guzzi Le Mans

1979 Moto Guzzi Le Mans CX100 . A rare survivor. Number 39 of only 353 examples made in the first year of the CX100. Most of these wonderful bikes have been modified over the years which to me is a shame as these bikes are visually and mechanically remarkable and unique and among the rarest of all the Le Mans series. With their "80's" styling, that has stood the test of time while reflecting Moto Guzzi's update of the venerable 850 Le Mans.Though with a somewhat storied history, as a Le Mans owner and rider of 35 years, I find them very satisfying. More torque where we ride most with more smoothness from the SP1000 sourced motor and a comfortable ride with it's very effective fairing and riding position. Everything is original except for the fairing and lowers which were repainted to repair some stone chips and general shoddiness of the original paint and fiberglass. Dyna ignition and wires and K&N's, otherwise everything is as it came from the factory. The gearbox is the best I have ever used on a Le Mans. Tires are 90%, new battery and everything works as it should. It has never been dropped or dinged. The front master cylinder which has now been rebuilt was weeping and bubbled a bit of the black paint on the fairing interior but not really visible, the . A small dent on the lower right muffler from moving around shop and some tarnished fittings are only slight imperfections on this 41 year old motorcycle. Rare, collectable and wonderfully rideable.
