Description
This is my 1966 ex GPO BSA Bantam KVB776D. It is in need of restoration. It was based at Bristol in its time with the GPO and is one of about 200 D7s that the GPO bought from BSA. I don't know too much about its history after its time as a GPO bike except that the previous owner told me that it used to belong to John Lawrence. he well known collector of ex GPO bikes from Cumbria. The engine fitted is not a D7 but is an original GPO D10 (engine number starts BD10 which is correct for GPO D10s. here as civilian engines start with D10). Apparently it was very common for engines to be swapped around when the bikes were sent in for repairs to get them back on the road as quickly as possible. The bike is a restoration project. The engine has compression but I have not had it running. The wiring needs sorting out and also the gearbox needs looking at as it doesn't engage first gear though second and third are fine. I have the V5c registration document in my name and the bike still carries its original registration number. Payment by cash on collection please. Thankyou.
