Indian Chief motorcycle for sale

Very original 1944 Essential Use Indian Chief- I am the third owner. Previous owner bought it surplus in 1950 and used until 1953. After that it sat neglected and bounced around for the next 65 years until I got it from the estate. Bike is crusty in areas- handlebars, rims, crash bars, and more- look at the pictures. Fenders and tanks very solid metal with dings, chips, and scuffs. Tanks are nice inside with no repairs that I can see. Bike repainted sometime before 1953 and where there are chips original Indian red shows through. We took some of the repaint off the left tank. Chainguard not repainted and is original.

Engine has standard bores, kicks through, and hasn't run in decades- assume power plant needs to be gone through. Engine and trans cases have no damage or repairs that I can see- just a few chipped head finns. Carburetor is correct 344 and cylinders correct 1944 style. Seat is original Indian but rough- Indian stamp barely visible. Tires are Indian script from back in the day and grips old Indian and horn is NOS. Engine and frame numbers match and haven't been messed with- clear title in my name.

This would be a great bike to go through and leave looking old- too cool to restore- it's got 76 years of bumps and bruises and honest patina. Ask any questions. Shipping cost and arrangements up to the buyer- I will help on this end but cannot crate this motorcycle.
