Description
You are looking at a 1970 BSA Royal Star 500 twin.
Bad news, one dimple-dent in the tank, the rest is mostly good news.
I have owned this bike since buying it used in 1985. Over the years I used it, sometimes with a sidecar, it got a little scruffy. Several years ago I decided to clean it up and got carried away. Among the new parts are; Stainless steel rims and spokes, front fender, Dunlop tires, tubes, rim strips, fork seals, seat, exhaust system, Britax engine guard, Boyer-Bransden electronic ignition, Diamond chain, sprockets, brake shoes, headlamp assembly, speedometer, cable and mount, Lucas wire harness, Barnett Clutch Plates, primary chain, all control cables.
The majority of these parts are OEM or British-made, though the speedo is an Emgo reproduction, The original speedo scrambled at 9,000-odd miles after I finished the project, go figure...
Anything not mentioned is original to the bike. Regarding the engine... Standard bore, new rings, all seals, new valves and guides. It was also repainted, including the frame and ancillaries, with catalyzed Urethane.
It runs well, vibrates like a BSA. I find that modern bikes and age have spoiled me for comfort, and I need the room in my garage, so I am thinning the herd. It runs well, vibrates like a BSA.
Check the photos carefully and email any specific questions.
I will help your chosen shipper but the buyer will need to make the arrangements, and the bike can be picked up at any time after the payment clears. Check out U-Ship for cost of delivery.
