Description
1948 BSA C11 250cc
ORIGINAL REGISTRATION NUMBER
LOTS OF HISTORY AND DOCUMENTATION
GENUINE REASON FOR SALE
Reluctantly selling this cute little British classic which I have owned for several years, actually owned it twice after selling to a friend and buying it back a few years later. The motorcycle is very original in that I think the tank may have been painted a very long distant past but the motorcycle is very original including items like the seat together with the handlebars, levers, engine and gearbox, frame etc. and the motorcycle looks better for it. It could be rebuilt but I left it as standard as it adds to the charm I think. I have the V5 registration document but also a mass of history files including the original Buff Log Book which shows it was originally registered in Scotland at the Moray County Council offices, ( which all ties up as I bought the motorcycle in Scotland originally in 2015).
It has the original registration number with it from 1948.
The motorcycle starts easily and is still on the original points and coil set up. The mechanical regulator was replaced several years ago for an electronic unit hidden within the original unit, the dynamo I had rebuilt in 2015.
The speedo is a Chronometric type which I had serviced has just over 30,000 miles on the clock and I have no reason to believe it is not true. Front brakes have been relined, the rear sprocket renewed and the piston replaced with a new item and re bored, I replaced the battery at the beginning of the season.
I have some spares which will go with the motorcycle as well.
The rack on the rear can be taken off if required as no modifications to the bike have been made, just used for shopping trips.
Please view photos and if you want any more information feel free to message me and I will try to answer.
I have a video of it running if anyone wants to see it, just give me a email address and I will forward it.
If delivery is required and you are not too far away I may be able to help, but this would have to be arranged as an additional fee agreed between both parties.
