Velocette Venom Thruxton 1966

Extensively fettled by Velocette specialist 500 miles ago, this bike is in excellent roadworthy mechanical condition, with stainless steel parts and re-chroming making it a very smart bike. Engine going beautifully and still needs some running in. Matching engine and frame numbers. Work carried out:
Wheels - hubs stove-enamelled, new bonded brake linings, wheels rebuilt with RHP bearings and stainless spokes onto Borrani rims, new Avon Roadrider MkII tyres fitted.
Frame - new swing arm bushes, new rear shocks, front forks rebuilt, much re-chroming and stainless.
Gearbox/clutch - gearbox fully rebuilt with new main and countershaft bearings, new clutch friction and steel plates, new chainwheel, standard Venom gear ratios.
Engine - BTH 'Dirt Track' magneto fully overhauled, big-end bearing replaced, re-faced valve seats, re-lined barrel, bored and new standard piston fitted.
Electrics (6V) - dynamo fully overhauled, new wiring loom and voltage regulator.
Exhaust - new stainless exhaust pipe and silencer.
Plus many more bits replaced. Odometer mileage of 2500 is, I suspect, meaningless. MkII Concentric carburettor fitted for easy starting and running. The original 1-3/8" T5GP2 is included in the sale.
Some non-standard parts (see photos) - mudguards, rear chain cover assembly and rear chain guard all in stainless, dynamo belt cover in aluminium, toolbox removed (battery under seat). 4 spare new cables (front brake, throttle, clutch, advance/retard), a few special tools, "Red Book" (photocopy), Parts List and Haynes Manual all included. I recently got this bike expertly fettled to ride well and reliably and now sadly find I must sell due to illness.
