Description
1948 Royal Enfield RE125 "Flying Flea".
Full V5C. I bought the bike with the registration number BCH323 on it and 3 tax discs in the holder from 1958, 1959 and 1960 but the DVLA would not reinstate the original registration number as the original buff log book is missing and the DVLA records in Derby from my year of registration were destroyed in a fire.
The bike has all the correct matching numbers and has been inspected and passed OK by the DVLA and given the registration number of NXS437, The DVLA stated if i can find any paperwork or correspondence linking the frame number to the original registration number they will reissue the original registration number back onto the bike.
Fully restored and in very good condition. Restored by me using either repaired original or new replacement parts.
The following parts have been renewed:
Both wheel rims, spokes, tubes and tyres.
All cables.
All wheel bearings.
Engine rebuilt with new bearings, piston rings, and gaskets.
Gearbox rebuild with new bearings and gaskets.
Ignition coil professionally rewound and has a good spark. Ignition points and condenser upgrade to a more available modern type.
Hubs powder coated.
Seat and springs.
Chrome re-chromed on handlebars, and all levers.
Much more and loads or receipts to back up the work.
There will be spares sold with the bike for the new owner: Handbook, Flywheel and lighting coils. New old stock original ignition coil ( holy grail of spares ) +60 piston incase the engine ever needs a rebore, 2 x points cams, Flywheel pulley/removal tool. All the old parts that have been replaced have been retained for the new owner.
I have never started the bike since the rebuild as it is an indoors display bike and did not want to have a petrol smell. The fuel tank was sealed with the correct sealer. The engine turns freely with very good compression. There is a very good spark at the spark plug. The gearbox is full of oil and has not leaked out. All gear select and the clutch works.
Since the restoration there is some micro blistering to some of the tinware but not bad and does not detract from the look of the bike.
Any questions please ask.
