Description
Please read this before you scroll down. There are approx 32 photos of this motorcycle here on a slide show. Please look at them all of you will miss pertinent details and information:For more information regarding this motorcycle please scroll down below slideshow.
This motorcycle although in need of a complete overhaul and some parts is generally in excellent part restored condition . I can only show you what I can see as I have not worked on it. New front mudguard. the original rear number plate is fitted and ties in with the Original buff log book and early V5. This bike has one owner on the V5 who registered it in 1981 in his name and you will show as the 2nd owner (ie 1 previous). There is a tax disc from 1960 again confirming the registration number and therefore it will be a transferable number.
The head has been repaired at some point over the years. with a new exhaust stub turned and fitted (common problem) and hence the head is removed and sat loose on the barrel. Its probably the main reason for de commissioning the bike in the 1st place. Pushrods. rockers and most valve parts are as shown in spares picture. however you should expect to have to buy some parts that have gone awol inc exhaust system and carb.
Included with the bike are 2 vintage gasket sets. a new pair of rear footrests and side stand from Ray Hiscock. still with price attached. both front footrests. rear stand. new tank mounting bolts and rubbers. an illustrated service bulletin from Bruce Maine-Smith and various brackets. There will be parts missing. notably. fastenings for mudguards. tool boxes. footrests and stands. Cylinder head bolts. cables. wiring. This list is not exhaustive. The rear mudguard will need some work to get it to fit with the rack.
Here's an online link to a spare parts manual as a guide : http://autoparts24x7. com/images/part_manual/Enfield_Model-J-J2/
You will see the mudguards are loosely attached as is the seat (with cable ties). What you see is what you get and this will make a wonderful rare motorcycle. Contact me with your questions please.
