Harley-Davidson FL, EL, WL, 1957

If you like the looks of an old Harley' WL or an EL but you don't want all of the hassle that goes with prehistoric bikes. then this could be the bike for you. Absolutely one of a kind. 957 Harley-Davidson. custom bike. featured in a couple of bike magazines (copies go with the bike). This bike was built for a customer by Thunder Road motorcycles in Birmingham in 1992. Named by them as the "Pan-knuck-shov'" The Bike started life as a 1957 FL Pan head. Now it is a hard tail frame with a 1970's 1200cc shovel head engine and springer forks. The bike has rear disc brake and 12volt electrics along with electronic ignition. It has kick start only. (not for the faint hearted) It has twin straight through pipes which are LOUD. It has a drum brake set up at the front (not amazing stopping power compared to modern bikes). Think it is four speed transmission. It is in exceptional condition if I told you it was rebuilt two years ago you would agree. It is of course tax free. No messers or time wasters. I am selling as I bought the bike intending to get my licence but time pressures mean this isn't going to happen any time soon and it is too good (and too expensive) a toy to have sitting around. Has covered a couple of miles only since last MOT. Historic tax class. Age related number plate. The bike has lots of chrome in really great condition The custom 1930's style paint is absolutely fantastic. Black rims. stainless spokes. tyres are good. New battery last week.
