1957 Harley-Davidson Other, Black

This restored 1957 Harley FLH was the March featured bike on the 2021 AMCA Calendar! The paint scheme is factory correct Skyline Blue over Black. It received it's Winners Circle badge in 2018 with a score of 97.75 pts, and since then I corrected 3 items that added up to another point. AMCA scores bikes by giving them a starting score of 100 points for being in the condition they would have left the factory and then subtracting points for incorrect or missing parts. Serial Number, matching case numbers, correct frame and correct Electrical system all have to be in place to even quality for judging. Incorrect paint scheme for any given model year is an automatic 6 point deduction, so they are pretty serious about their judging standards. This is an original 6 Volt example. Correct high quality OEM Used or NOS parts were used where bits needed replacing. There are NO "Modern Conversions" on this motorcycle which in the AMCA judging system can either disqualify it for judging altogether, or cost serious point deductions. So it is a nice high points restoration and other than the corrections nothing has been changed on the bike since it's Winner Circle award. Starts, runs, stops as it should. it is usually a one kick starter for me. Bags are original period correct Royalites with the correct badging and the Harley logo stamp. I do ride it during the summer months, so it has some minor cosmetic blemishes and the seat has some creasing and small cracks. The top end was redone approximately 5K miles ago. The original speedo was restored and the real mileage is of course an unknown number. It has been on numerous AMCA Road Rally's, both local and National, and was judged 3 separate times at the Dixon CA AMCA meet over a period of 3 years on the way to getting it's final Winners Circle Award. I have had this bike for about 12 years now, and it is time to let someone else enjoy it while I find a new project. This sale is As Is and Shown and no express or implied warranty is attached.
