1962 Velocette Venom

Here is a very well turned out and very good running. regularly used example of a matching engine & frame Velocette Venom.

The Velocette marque is renowned for its build quality. They were less “mass-produced” than the big 3 British manufacturers and they have that bit more hand-built finesse about them.

This example is ready to go. It is an easy starter and the engine sounds great with no smoke. The bike is great to ride. The Clubmans rear sets give a nice riding position combined with standard bars. (The original footrests and rear brake pedal & centre stand are included). Brakes are excellent. Speedo & rev counter are both working well. Electrics are 12volt and charging is good.

This is a really well looked after and useable machine!

The bike comes with original buff log book & up to date V5C.

Registration number 512 AOW is the (transferable) original dating from 01/03/1962.

Frame number is RS14913. Engine number is VM 4315 both matching original. The bike was originally supplied to Alec Bennet Ltd of Portswood. Southampton.

Cosmetically the bike is very clean and tidy but it is a used bike not a concours show piece! The enamel on the frame is good and sound but quite old looking. The (alloy) tank has had a nice paint job and has no dents or blemishes. The Front wheel has very good chrome on the rim and good. clean “rustless” spokes.

Front tyre is a hardly used Avon Road Runner

Rear rim is also excellent with rear spokes also clean and good. Rear tyre is a also a hardly used Avon Roadrunner.

Exhaust system is very good but not as new. There's a couple of marks near the kick-starter but it doesn't catch it.

Mudguards are stainless and in excellent condition.

There is no fin damage on the engine.
