Description
Rare 1949 Norton International 500 cc overhead cam single cylinder motorcycle. Selling to fund purchase of a Vincent.
Engine number is: D11 20278 with external hairpin type valve springs (the letter D is correct for year 1949 and the number 11 means the model International)
Frame number is: 20683
This motorcycle is complete with beautiful plunger suspension with roadholder front forks. The tank and sheetmetal believed to be original. Tank is in very good condition and clean inside. Bike was running when parked about 6 years ago. Kicks over fine and the gears shift fine. Magneto makes a nice blue spark. Stored in climate-controlled storage. The original carburetor was removed and replaced with Mikuni and it worked great. Should not take much to put the original carb back.
Sold on a bill of sale. No title.
